The Film

Dwellers is an award winning found footage horror film written by, directed by, and starring Drew Fortier which was produced by David Ellefson via the newly formed Ellefson Films. After wrapping post production in early 2021, the film has since been selected into countless film festivals and along with glowing reviews, has won the Best Feature award from the Screamwriting Festival as well as the Best Horror Feature award from the Mad Monster Party Film Festival in Feb. 2021 for which Ellefson and Fortier were in attendance and held the film's world premiere.

Dwellers has been described as being "C.H.U.D. if it were shot like The Blair Witch Project" and aside from Fortier, the film stars James L. Edwards (Bloodletting, Her Name Was Christa), Douglas Esper, Omar Baig, as well as cameo appearances from David Ellefson and Jeff Hatrix (Mushroomhead).


Drew Fortier - Filmmaker:

Prior to Dwellers, Drew Fortier gained notoriety for his work with such artists as David Ellefson (Megadeth), Bang Tango, and Chuck Mosley (Faith No More). Fortier established himself as a multi faceted creative force from directing the brutally poignant and critically acclaimed rock documentary Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie, to joining Bang Tango as a guitarist, Fortier has also starred in the cult horror film Her Name Was Christa (2020) and released his autobiography, Dark, Depressing, and Hilarious, in 2018, as well as Rock Star Hitman which is an acclaimed fiction novel co-written with David Ellefson released earlier this year.


David Ellefson - Producer:

David Ellefson has woven a vast professional tapestry as a bassist, songwriter, record producer, clinician, author and now award winning film producer. As a member of Megadeth, he has been awarded 10 Grammy nominations, 1 Grammy win, countless gold & platinum records and toured the world for the better part of 3 decades.

Ellefson, who holds a Bachelor's degree in business marketing and continues to lecture on a variety of music and business related topics, has also ventured out into other related forays, as president of record label EMP Label Group (Ellefson Music Productions), his own coffee brand Ellefson Coffee Co., a book publishing company Ellefson Book Co., and now Ellefson Films with the new award winning found footage horror film Dwellers.
